News: Received SEBAP 2021-2022 Mobility Grant
I am pleased to share a piece of news posted on my university’s website: “IQS Doctoral Student Huaxin Wanglu Earns SEBAP Grant.” Over the past 5-6 years, this fellowship has been granted to approximately 5 students at URL. It is a great honor to be one of the 13 recipients this year!
Huaxin Wanglu has earned the Beca Societat Econòmica Barcelonesa d’Amics del País (Barcelona Economics Society Friends of the Country Grant) which was awarded at the Amics del País awards ceremony, held on 29 March at the Barcelona City Council’s iconic Saló de Cent conference hall.
Huaxin has been studying labour mobility and child development in China under Dr. Octasiano Valerio Mendoza and Dr. Flavio Comim at the IQS School of Management. She is a member of the Social Economics and Ethics (SEE) Research Group and has contributed to the projects H2020-CHINEQUALJUSTICE and EIN2019-102931 funded by the European Commission and the Ministry of Science and Innovation, respectively.
Her research provides relevant information and policy implications for understanding migration decisions based on structural changes in employment and also how parents’ values and perceptions affect their children’s academic development.
The €4,200 research mobility grant will enable her to study at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, under the supervision of Dr. Simiao Chen, with the aim of expanding her studies from a health perspective.
